Learn to use your DSLR or Mirrorless Camera
If you have an interest in learning more about photography, this introductory photography class will teach you how to get off of the "auto" mode and learn to shoot in "manual” with your DSLR or Mirrorless camera.
(While this series of classes is geared towards adults aged 17+, I also teach children through my other business, Camp Pixel Project!)
Why shoot in manual? Your camera does not know if you want a blurred or focused background. Nor does it know if you want a photograph to be brighter or darker. It doesn't know a lot of things! By learning to shoot in "manual" mode, you will learn to have complete control of your camera settings to achieve the look(s) you want for your images!
What makes this class different from other photography classes is it uses hands-on exercises and excursions and optional weekly assignments to reinforce learning. It is NOT is a lecture style, boring class.
I teach one topic at a time so no one leaves overwhelmed, and everyone has plenty of time to practice new skills in between classes. My promise to you is that you WILL leave each class inspired and excited to practice!
This class will take place over four 2 hour sessions and will highlight the following topics:
Lenses and their function
Basic Lighting
The Exposure Triangle- Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO
Maximizing your camera's potential
Who is this class for?
This class is geared towards adults, but older teenagers are invited to participate as well!

Location is a private residence in The Woodlands in zip code 77381. More details will be sent the week of class.
Cost:
$300 for the class series. You can also rent a DSLR camera if you do not already own one for the entire 3 weeks for $50. The rental includes the camera body, at least two lenses, battery, charger, USB cable, memory card, and camera bag.
